Fribourg Tourisme et Région, private association recognized as a public utility, is one of 7 regional tourist organizations (RTOs) in the Canton of Fribourg. It is the tourist office for the city of Fribourg and of the Sarine district.

Housed in the Équilibre theater, our team warmly welcomes you to Fribourg, to provide you with information on the city’s and the Sarine district’s must-sees.

Our ticketing service is also on hand to sell tickets for your favorite events in Fribourg and Switzerland.

If you’re looking to organize an event, our congress service will be delighted to provide you with information on the various hosting options available in the city of Fribourg.

The tasks of Fribourg Tourisme et Région are based on the new Cantonal Tourism Act. (LT 08.10.2021 in French)

The role of regional tourism organizations is governed by Art. 13

Art. 13
Responsibilities
The main tasks of regional tourism organizations are as follows:

a) to participate in establishing the tourism strategy of the region of which they are a part;

b) ensure the coordination and execution of tourism marketing and promotion activities at regional level;

c) ensure the development of tourism based on the quality of the welcome and compatible with the aspirations of guests and the population, in particular through the development of the offer, while respecting sustainable development;

d) tourist reception and assistance;

e) promoting the natural, historical, cultural and traditional assets of the area in which they operate;

f) operating, signposting or supervising public facilities to promote tourism and make guests’ stays more enjoyable;

g) organizing or supporting tourist activities, events and demonstrations.
